… and this is the wonder that’s keeping the stars apart
~ E.E. Cummings
During this perilous pandemic period, I can’t help but wonder about the Nature of our world. The sky, the sea, the desert, and the mountain tops, are symbols of Spirit. A Spirit I trust.
Nature doesn’t wonder what to do next. She does it. Nature doesn’t wonder about gravitational pull, he accepts it. Nature doesn’t wonder about the stars, the moon, the seasons because, as E. E. Cummings wrote in “I Carry Your Heart With Me (I Carry It in My Heart)” they are part of “… sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows higher than soul can hope or mind can hide ….”
Harmony in Nature is a spiritual teaching and it has been from the beginning of time.
Even though I don’t wonder what’s keeping the stars apart — I am in wonder at the stars above.
A falling star is not judged as a failure; I glimpse it in awe as it fills the night sky with a brilliant light.
A rising morning star is not to be emulated; I take it as a signal of hope for another day.
An old star is not forgotten; I worship it for warmth, light, and sustaining life.
A family of stars is not overlooked; the constellations guide me through darkness to destinations beyond my imagination.
The evening star, Venus, has inspired lovers long before I was here, and will continue long after I am no more.
I trust in the wonder of stars — and the space that supports them. Even in times of uncertainty, they fill the night with light.
